How Continual works

Continual (opens in a new tab) is a unified platform for building, deploying, and managing AI copilots that are embedded into applications and can instantly answer user questions, accelerate workflows, and elevate user experiences with AI. Continual is built to provide all the core components you need to build an AI copilot that is uniquely tailored to your application and use case and delivers best-in-class performance and reliability.

The Continual Platform

You can interact with the Continual platform through the Continual Console (opens in a new tab) or the Continual API. The Continual platform includes following core components:

1. Copilots
   Copilots connect models, knowledge bases, and tools to provide an powerful converational assistant that is deeply integrated with your application and is an expert in your domain. These AI assistants can be product copilots, customer support copilots, sales and marketing copilots, internal tool copilots, or anything else you can imagine.

2. Knowledge Bases
   Knowledge bases are semantically index stores of information that copilots can access to provide users with accurate and up-to-date information, whether that is product documentation, FAQs, or user uploaded documents and data. This ensures that your copilot always has the most up-to-date information to provide to users.

3. Tools
   Tools enable you to integrate with your application APIs and third-party services. This allows your copilot to perform a get realtime information and perform a wide range of tasks and take actions on behalf of the user.

4. Model Providers
   AI models power your copilot's conversational and reasoning capabilities. Continual supports a variety of proprietary models, including models from OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, and open-source models from model providers such as Together.AI, Anyscale, and Databricks.

Continual also includes a suite of tools for evaluation, monitoring, and feedback to help you continuously improve your AI copilot's performance and effectiveness.
